Description:

soak (n.)
(slang, British-English): a person who drinks to excess; a drunk. No definite origin, but linked to the country's seafaring heritage circa the Age of Sail

Louis is at rock bottom. He's done time for killing his family; his friends despise him; his public persona has been mauled by the tabloids; the legs of his lovers have snapped shut; the Horns Conglomerate has cut all ties with him; and so much as thinking about his shrivelled up criminal connections is liable to see him wind up as fresh cuts on the Black Market's stalls, not that anyone would want his alkie hide. Effectively under house arrest in the mausoleum that is his father's mansion and penniless aside from a clandestine pittance the family business throws at him, there is nothing worth getting out of bed for. And boy does he need a drink after 12 years sober.

Wouldn't that be nice? To suckle from that old poisoned teat that set him down this dark path and slip into oblivion forevermore.

Fate isn't planning on being that kind to this damned soul. All traps have a release mechanism, even liquid ones.
